Robert Kronable hopes to grow the sport of wrestling in Tuscaloosa. Kronable, one of the organizers of the Tuskaloosa Wrestling Coalition, is a former wrestler and the father of a young wrestler. And now local youngsters, ages 5 to 14, are learning the fundamentals of the sport. 

He says he hopes the Fall Youth Wrestling Program will help kids learn and develop even more competitively. 

The 2017 season for the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater gets underway early next month, and this year’s lineup is as impressive as ever, according to city officials. Headliners include the likes of John Legend, Dave Matthews and Soundgarden.

Each year, the Sawyerville Day Camp 5K draws professional runners and families, all turning out to support the Hale County summer camp and learning program, supported by the local community and the Episcopal churches of Alabama. This year’s 5K is set for this Saturday, Oct. 15.
