Tuscaloosa’s Youth for Christ is gearing up for one of its biggest events of the year. The annual Legacy Golf Tournament draws over 100 golfers ready to hit the links for a great cause. All proceeds benefit YFC’s programs.

On Monday, May 13, the Legacy Golf Challenge benefiting Youth for Christ, will be held at the NorthRiver Yacht Club.

Tuscaloosa Youth for Christ Executive Director Mike Green says the funds raised are always put to good use. This year’s proceeds are specifically designated for YFC’s Campus Life outreach.

Hundreds of students each week from over a dozen campuses take part in Campus Life programs at their schools.  In each setting students are provided a safe place to discuss life, faith, and a relationship with Christ,” Green said.

The event fee for the Legacy tournament is $300 per person or $1200 for a foursome registration. The tournament will use a best ball format.

While the focus of the day is to play a great game of golf, there will be plenty of great things happening off the greens as well. Participants in the tournament will be able to win unique, limited edition prizes.

Each golfer is invited to take the Challenge to raise $1,000 or more in personal sponsorship,” Green said. “Golfers who reach their goal will select from one of our fantastic prizes.

Prizes include sports art from Rick Rush, Daniel Moore, Greg Gable, and others, along with memorabilia, athletic equipment, and more.

“The event rewards great golf as well as fundraising efforts of our players,” Green said.
