Holy Spirit Athletes Earn Top Honors Laurie Mitchell

Holy Spirit Catholic School in Tuscaloosa held its annual athletic banquet on Thursday, May 4. Students, coaches and volunteers were recognized for their participation in the athletic program.

Each sport gives the Titan Award – the highest honor given to a Holy Spirit High School student athlete. The recipients of the Titan Award should be of strong character and demonstrate excellent leadership and sportsmanship. They are always respectful to their coaches, teammates, opponents and officials and make good choices and show positive reaction in adverse situations. The recipients are exemplary role models for all and are selected by the head coach or sponsor.

This year’s Titan Award winners are: Mikaela McDaniel-Softball, Nikita Peramsetty-Bowling, Christian Giggie-Boys Soccer, Alex Giggie-Girls Soccer, Sydney Colburn-Cheerleading, Roeder McNair-Baseball, Catherine Sisson-Volleyball, Garrett Lake- Football, Henry Pitts-Boys Cross Country, Anna Pitts-Girls Cross Country, Kate Pitts-Track & Field, Morgan Drake- Girls Golf, Nick Postle –Boys Golf, Ayana Tyree-Girls Basketball, and Matthew Mulanix-Boys Basketball.

The Tommy Keneson Commitment Award is presented annually to an individual demonstrating an extraordinary level of dedication and commitment to the Holy Spirit Athletic Program. Its recipient exemplifies the school’s core value of integrity, sportsmanship, and successful leadership. The Keneson Award winner works to create a better community of student athletes, models exemplary citizenship, and carries forth a spirit of graciousness and respect for others. It is the highest honor won by a member of the Holy Spirit athletes, coaches, parents, boosters and friends. This year the award was presented to Mr. Scott Perry, Principal of Holy Spirit Catholic High School.
