The Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center will be the setting for the District 3 Poetry Out Loud regional finals for West-Central Alabama students on Nov. 19. The competition begins at 9 a.m. at the DWCAC in Tuscaloosa and is free and open to the public.

Aspiring area photography students in T-Town, listen up. The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will present the Annual Junior Double Exposure Juried Photography Exhibit at the Bama Theatre’s Junior League Gallery in 2020. The competition will be open to any Alabama photographers in grades 6-12.

The Bama Theatre will host the premiere screening of a locally produced documentary, “The Strip: Tuscaloosa’s Most Colorful Quarter Mile,” on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $8, student/senior tickets are $7, and the Bama Bar will be open for the event at 6:45 p.m. The screening is affiliated with the City of Tuscaloosa’s Bicentennial Celebration.
