CSP Spotlight: National Preparedness Month - Practice and Build Out Your Plans

Planning ahead for disasters is critical. Are you prepared? Here are some things to do help protect you, your family, and your friends.  

  • Create and maintain an emergency savings account that can be used in case of an emergency.
  • Participate in an emergency drill.
  • Know how to access community resources (e.g., shelters, food banks).
  • Gather important documents for your emergency kit.
  • Maintain emergency savings in case of a disaster.
  • Make digital copies of important documents and save them on the cloud or a secure cell phone app in case disaster strikes.
  • Have at least a one-week supply of medications.
  • Financial prep tip: gather & store critical personal, household, & medical information for easy access during a disaster.
  • Community Service Programs of West Alabama (CSP), Inc.’s Head Start/Early Head Start and Early Intervention programs engage families and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.  Safe and healthy children are ready to learn and explore their world.
