Fast Tax, 1930 15th Ave., celebrated its grand opening in Tuscaloosa in January. Fast Tax specializes in personal, self-employment and small business tax preparation and returns. (205) 331-4761 

Amy Corbin’s State Farm Insurance office is now open at 2600 6th Street in downtown Tuscaloosa. Corbin celebrated a grand opening in January. (205) 330-0905, 

Miss Dots restaurant, 1715 University Blvd., opened its Tuscaloosa location in January.  This Southern-themed, fast-casual restaurant is co-owned by former Alabama football player John Cassimus. This is the second Miss Dots in Alabama; the first restaurant opened in Mountain Brook’s Crestline Village in January 2015.  (205) 632-5321, 

Now Open 

301 Bistro, Bar and Beer Garden is now open at 301 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa in the renovated historic L&N Train Station. The restaurant features “Tuscaloosa fusion” dishes, along with traditional German classics, craft cocktails and more. Open nightly for dinner and for Sunday brunch. (205) 764-1395.  

Edward Jones Financial Advisor John Gordon’s office is now open at 401 20th Avenue, Suite 1 in downtown Northport. Gordon celebrated a grand opening in early December. (205) 752-5056, 

Great Clips is now open in The Shoppes at Legacy Park. Franchise owners David and Lynne Bruington celebrated with a grand opening on Dec. 5. No appointments are needed, and the salon is open nights and weekends. (205) 737-7184, 

Jennaration Boutique has opened a second area store, in Northport in the Winn Dixie shopping center on Highway 43 North (13548 Hwy 43 N). A grand opening celebration was held on Dec. 4. (205) 409-6115,
