The program features after school mentoring and tutoring in the areas of reading comprehension, literacy, mathematics and non-traditional physical enrichment. Youth in in grades 3-6 can expect to gain skills in their area(s) of at risk academic needs.
“This is our fourth year of partnering with Mind Changers,” said Jay Logan, Director of Community Outreach. “PARA is excited to continue this partnership of bringing valuable after school enrichment services to youth at the Hughes Center. This aligns with PARA’s mission of community enrichment while serving our youth in an environment that helps cultivate the students’ overall success.”
Mind Changers’ Founder and CEO Rodney Pelt states, “We help students to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world of work. Most importantly, we are here to give students guidance and assistance in developing a positive plan for a successful future.”
There is no cost to attend, but participants must register in advance by providing parental consent with parents or legal guardians applying in person at the Hughes Center. Open enrollment is underway with programming on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. through May 6, 2020.
