Moore Named Dean of Workforce and Economic Development at Shelton State Shelton State

Shelton State Community College has named Jason Moore as the College’s Dean of Workforce and Economic Development.

A graduate of Shelton State, Moore brings twenty-one years of varied experience in manufacturing, teaching, and college leadership.  Over the last seventeen years, he has served Shelton State Community College in numerous positions including Machine Tool Technology Instructor, Associate Dean of Technical Services, Associate Dean for Business and Industry Training, and in his most recent role, Associate Dean for Corporate Programs.

As Dean of Workforce and Economic Development, Moore will be responsible for the overall operation of the College’s Technical Services Division, Corporate Programs, and workforce development (Training for Business and Industry). Additionally, Moore will lead community engagement initiatives relating to developing a workforce.

“I am proud to continue my work at Shelton State,” says Moore.  “The College has afforded me many experiences over the course of my career, and I appreciate this new opportunity.  I look forward to helping move the College forward in the areas of workforce and economic development.”

“It is with great pleasure that I promote Jason Moore into the position of Dean of Workforce and Economic Development,” said Bill Ashley, President of Shelton State.  “With a long history at the College, Jason enters this position as no stranger to leadership in the institution.  Having led first as an instructor, his service in multiple administrative capacities at the College makes him ideal for this position.  As he prepares to move on from his current position as Associate Dean of Corporate Programs, I have the utmost confidence in his talent, and I am excited about his continued leadership within our College and the community.”

Moore will begin serving as Dean of Workforce and Economic Development on September 1, 2018.
