Meet this week's Humane Society of West Alabama's Pet of the Week: Cannon! He is a 2 to 3-year-old male dachshund mix with a beautiful, reddish brown, smooth coat on his long body and short legs. He is small and full grown, weighing only 18 pounds.
This week’s Humane Society of West Alabama’s Pet of the Week is beautiful Luna! She is a solid black, very sleek, bobtail girl who is about 3-years-old. Luna was surrendered to the shelter because of conflict with the family dog.
Luna loves to play fetch, is very affectionate, loves to cuddle, and ride on your shoulder! Unfortunately, as her time passes in the shelter she is becoming more withdrawn and doesn’t play as much – but she is still very affectionate and loving and will be a great addition to your family.
Luna is stunning, and she’s so ready for her new home.
Please call 205-554-0011 or visit humanesocietyofwa.org to request an appointment to meet Luna, and all of the available animals.
Meet your new best friend, Miss Allie. She is this week's Humane Society of West Alabama's Pet of the Week.
This little baby is Chewy, aka Chewbacca, an 8-month-old female Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. Chewy is this week’s Humane Society of West Alabama Pet of the Week. She has a light tan, smooth coat, the ears like a Chihuahua, and the longer body like a Dachshund, thus a ChiWeenie! Chewy is small, weighing only 13 pounds, and will only get to about 15 pounds when full grown.
This gorgeous girl is Goldie, and she’s this week’s Humane Society of West Alabama Pet of the Week. Goldie is a 7-month-old (as of March) female yellow Labrador retriever mix. She has a smooth yellow coat and weighs around 35 pounds – but she still has some growing to do. She’ll probably get to around 50 pounds when full grown. Goldie was pulled from our local animal shelter, where she had been surrendered by her owner because they felt she was "too much responsibility." Goldie had been down there several weeks and was so shy and timid that folks overlooked her, so the Humane Society needed to get her out.
