Happy Official Spring: Spring began on March 20, just in time. Let’s hope that last cold snap was the final one for a good long while. We hope everyone had a lovely spring break, and it’s time to get back into the swing of things in Tuscaloosa and Northport. There are a host of awesome events happening this week, so be sure to get out and enjoy them!

Happy Spring Break, everyone. Not surprisingly, this week’s community calendar of events is a little on the thin side. Still, though, there are a host of neat things you can do with the kiddos if you’re staying in town for vacation.

Need ideas? Check out our calendar, and also, take a look at Tori Linville’s piece on combating spring break boredom in the area with some awesome activities. Have fun, whatever you decide to do. And, for those of you heading to the beach, or Disney, or anywhere else – safe travels!

ALSO: Don't forget Daylight Savings Time starts at 2 a.m. on Sunday - set those close ahead one hour on Saturday evening!

Spring has sprung throughout West Alabama, and that means more time outdoors, and generally (for most of us) a sunnier disposition. Take advantage of some of these great local events and happenings this week - and Tuscaloosa residents, don't forget: municipal and school board elections are Tuesday, March 7!

Roll Tide! Happy National Championship week, everyone!  Has everyone thawed out from the weekend yet? Hopefully you found some time to get out and enjoy the snow – without having to actually drive anywhere. This week kicks off with The Game on Monday night, but that’s not all: Plenty of other fun activities are on tap in coming days.

Season’s greetings! We hope you all had a lovely holiday – now get ready for another one. New Year’s Day is almost here, and as we usher in 2017, these are a few of the events happening in and around the area.

Not surprisingly, this week’s community calendar is a little on the light side. Given that this is the week leading up to Christmas Day, fewer events are being held – but that does *not* mean great opportunities aren’t around for family holiday fun. Check out Holidays on the River – go ice skating! Or visit the Tuscaloosa Barnyard’s Country Christmas and enjoy a lovely festive hayride and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. You can also check out a live nativity pageant in Northport!

Whatever you do this week, we hope it is relatively stress-free and enjoyable. Have a wonderful holiday!
