DCL Pet(s) of the Week: Meet Missy

This big sweet baby is Missy, a 1-year-old female Labrador Retriever mix. This beautiful girl is the Humane Society of West Alabama's Pet of the Week.

Missy weighs 47 pounds and has a solid yellow coat, beautiful golden eyes and a pink nose. She was pulled from our local animal shelter where she was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and no one came to claim her.

Missy is a big puppy who is fun, happy, loving and full of energy. She loves attention and to play. Missy is too big and energetic for an apartment setting. She will need a fenced in yard to play in if left unattended outside, and the HSWA would prefer that she has a fenced in yard to have the freedom to run and play. She is not to be an outside dog only. Missy seems to get along well with other dogs and should be fine with older children (12 and older).

Missy has started on her crate training, and she is up-to-date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Missy is such a happy dog, she will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky home!

All HSWA dogs are either at the Dog Adoption Facility or in foster homes. All dogs require an appointment to meet. Please call  205-554-0011 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request an appointment to see Missy. Her adoption fee is $75.
