Tuscaloosa Police Department Headquarters Temporarily Moves Tuscaloosa Police Department

Renovations and repairs are expected to get underway soon at the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s headquarters on Trevor Phillips Avenue. As a result, the department has moved to a new, temporary location on Hargrove Road East in the old Oak Hill School location at the entrance to Bowers Park.

In a statement on social media, TPD said they expect to be at the new location for “approximately two years” or until “needed renovations and repairs” are completed.

TPD’s new headquarters officially opened to the public on Jan. 13.

Tuscaloosa police spokeswoman Lt. Teena Richardson said the move will not affect TPD’s ability to respond to calls, and all operations will function as normal. The Hargrove Road E. facility will house police administration, the records department and the traffic and investigative divisions.

Any police-related business will be taken care of at the new location, though police reports can be filed at the East, West, or Downtown Tuscaloosa Police Department precincts.
