DCL Pet of the Week: Meet Tux

Mister Tux is a big, beautiful cat! He has a handsome black and white coat and beautiful green eyes. He is exceptionally smart and has even learned how to sit for treats. Tux is the Humane Society of West Alabama's Pet of the Week!

Mister Tux requires a cat-savvy human and a nice big space to call his own. He also suffers from anxiety so the HSWA treats him every morning with a little bit of "kitty Prozac" paste to the inside of his ears. He has no problem taking his medicine. He loves to hang out on the enclosed “catio” and watch the birds. Close behind watching the wildlife in the backyard is Tux's second favorite activity - curling up on shoes! He will come up to you and nuzzle your feet so that you can bend over and scratch his ears.

Mister Tux would do best as an only cat or he could be adopted with another cat from the shelter with whom he has made friends. He is an Alpha Cat, so please ask an adoption counselor who his best match would be.

For more information on how to adopt Mister Tux, please visit humanesocietyofwa.org.

Mister Tux is Negative for FIV, and FeLK, current on vaccinations, and neutered.
His adoption fee is $75, to help cover a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Vet records are provided to Adopters.
