DCL Pet of the Week: Meet Izzy

DCL Pet of the Week: Meet Izzy Humane Society of West Alabama
This pretty young girl is Izzy, a 9-10 month old retriever/lab mix. She is a sweet, fun, energetic dog, and she's the Humane Society of West Alabama's Pet of the Week!
Izzy is very loving, and she would do fantastic with someone who loves to spend time outside.

She is solid black with a little fuzzy length to part of her coat. Right now, she weighs 36 pounds but she will get a little bigger, probably to around 40-45 pounds, when she's full grown.

Izzy is still a puppy in a lot of ways and will need training and structure to help her continue to develop into a well-mannered adult dog. She seems to get along well with other dogs but the HSWA would advise a trial if there are other dogs in the household. Izzy has some energy, so she will need a fenced in yard to run around and play to work off that energy. She probably would not do well in an apartment setting. Izzy should be fine with children 8 and up, maybe not younger due to her size and puppy ways.

She has started on her crate training. Izzy is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative, and is microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
