Fourth Annual "Put the Pub in Public Radio" Fundraiser Set for Saturday

Live music, craft beer, catered food…the 4th annual “Putting the Pub in Public Radio” has everything you need to enjoy a fall weekend in Tuscaloosa.

Sponsored by the Board of the Friends of WUAL, the event will take place 2 to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Druid City Brewing Company, in the Parkview Plaza shopping center.

“This is a chance for all friends of public radio – or even those who just want to have a good time – to come out and enjoy a relaxing, fun bye week event,” said Kelly Horwitz, WUAL Board of Friends event co-chair.

The fundraiser will feature music performers Della Ray and The Pollies. Founded by Adam Morrow and Natalie Jensen, the three-piece rock/indie/folk band Della Ray hails from Florence, Alabama, and performs regularly at Druid City Brewing Company. The Pollies, a four-member band playing Southern rock, also has a north Alabama connection, with founder Jay Burgess raised on the music of Muscle Shoals.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the event. All ticket holders will receive a specially designed souvenir pub glass, a t-shirt, and food. They’ll also be entered into raffle drawings for gift baskets from supporting vendors.

Tickets can be purchased before the event at Oz Music, Hudson-Poole Fine Jewelers and Druid City Brewing Company.
