DCL Pet of the Week: Meet Chevy

DCL Pet of the Week: Meet Chevy Humane Society of West Alabama

Check out those ears! Chevy is this week’s Humane Society of West Alabama Pet of the Week!

Chevy is a female, 22 months to 2-year-old, shepherd/lab mix. She has a beautiful chocolate and white coat and is a good-sized dog, weighing 54 pounds.

Chevy is very friendly and fun! She does have a lot of energy and loves to run and play. But once you get some of her energy out, she loves to sit and be loved on. Chevy would make an excellent running or walking partner. She is very smart and would thrive on training.

She should be fine with children over 12, not any younger due to her still being a bit jumpy. Chevy is too big for an apartment and a yard with a fence 5 feet high or over will be required.

She does pretty well with other dogs. The HSWA doesn't  want her to be an outside only dog, she wants to be with her pack! Chevy was crate trained and pretty much house trained, but she may need a little refresher training on this.

Chevy is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and is microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Please call 205-554-0011 or visit humanesocietyofwa.org to request an appointment to meet the available animals.
