Alabama Choir School to Hold Open Auditions

Does your child love to sing? If so, the Alabama Choir School is holding auditions soon. Open auditions are set for Monday, Aug. 6 from 4-6 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Prior musical training is not necessary to participate, but an audition is required. Auditions are being held for any student enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. Just stop by any time between 4-6 p.m. – and be sure to use the 6th Street entrance between Greensboro Avenue and Lurleen Wallace Blvd. You do not need to bring an audition piece, the process is quick and simple, and there is no fee to audition. Partial scholarships are available.

For over 30 years, the Alabama Choir School has been educating students in West Alabama in the art of singing and performing the finest music in the choral tradition. Students develop character, discipline, musicianship, leadership, global awareness, and a strong commitment to excellence through rehearsals and performances.

Immediately following the auditions, a meeting for new singers and their parents will be held (6-6:40 p.m.).
