City of Tuscaloosa Partners with Alabama Power, Alabama Forestry Commission to Host Annual Tree Giveaway

The City of Tuscaloosa, along with the Alabama Power Service Organization and the Alabama Forestry Commission, are teaming up to give away thousands of tree seedlings next week.

During the annual Arbor Week tree giveaway, organizers will distribute 5,000 bare root tree seedlings at the Tuscaloosa River Market 8-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24.

The seedlings, given away on a first come, first served basis, consist of several different tree varieties including red maple, crepe myrtle, live oak, white oak, saw tooth oak, holly, redbud, bald cypress, nuttall oak and overcup oak.
