The seventh annual Tuscaloosa Comedy Café is set for Oct. 17 at the Bryant Conference Center, and organizers of the event, a fundraiser for Youth for Christ Tuscaloosa, are excited to share YFC’s mission with attendees.

“The Tuscaloosa Comedy Café is our community’s premier comedy event benefiting the work of Youth for Christ,” said Mike Green, the executive director of Tuscaloosa YFC. “The event provides funding for YFC’s ministry at 17 area high schools and middle schools.”

The 2017 Comedy Café offers plenty of opportunities for laughter and inspiration, with comedian Daren Streblow bringing his unique, family-friendly, standup humor as the headliner. In addition, YFC students and staff will share personal stories with attendees.

“This year will feature the amazing stories of high school students impacted by the ministry,” Green said.

Tuscaloosa’s Youth for Christ ministers to over 2000 students in Tuscaloosa County through its two primary programs, Campus Life and Parent Life. The Comedy Café allows YFC to continue to expand. It is a large outreach, and one that’s needed, according to Green.

“Every day in high schools, community centers, middle schools, coffee shops and local hangouts, YFC staff and volunteers meet with young people who need Jesus.”

The 2017 Tuscaloosa Comedy Café is an evening geared for adults in the community. Childcare for kids ages two and up will be provided. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program will conclude by 8:30 p.m. For more information, and to reserve seats, visit ttowncomedycafe.com or call the Youth for Christ offices at 205-752-3361.
