Stillman College in Tuscaloosa celebrated the grand opening of its Veterans Resource Center on Thursday, Aug. 24. The new center, under the leadership of director Marilyn Hill, will provide a variety of services to Stillman’s student veterans, including academic advising and referrals.

Deborah Cain, the vice president of the west central chapter of the Association of the United States Army, was on hand for the celebration, held in the Hays building on the Stillman College campus. Cain presented a certificate of appreciation to Stillman College President Dr. Cynthia Warrick.

“We are looking forward to working with Dr. Warrick to make their Veterans Resource Center a great place for our veterans,” Cain said.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting was held on the first day of classes at the historically black college, which was founded in 1876.
