UA Dean Honored by Local Military Organization

The West/Central Alabama Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) has given University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Dean Dr. Mark Nelson with a special honor. Nelson was given a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his extraordinary support of those serving in the military.

“It is a privilege to recognize Dean Nelson for his support of the men and women serving our country,” said Nicolas Britto, the President of AUSA.

AUSA is a private, nonprofit, educational Association of individual, business and organization members dedicated to supporting and maintaining a strong national defense with emphasis on the role of the United States Army.

AUSA supports the needs and interests of all components of the Total Army - Active Duty, Army Reserve, National Guard, Department of the Army civilians, retirees, and family members. The organization’s mission is to be the voice for all components of America’s Army, fostering public support of the Army’s role in national security and providing professional education and information programs. Additionally, AUSA supports soldiers, the Department of the Army Civilians, military veterans and the Army family.
