Cool Crate Storage has recently opened a new climate-controlled, self-storage facility in Northport (5000 Union Station). Owned and operated by local businessmen Tim Harrison and Lee Henderson, the state-of-the-art building is a single level, ground floor facility that offers a variety of sizes to customers. The Juicy Crab will open in Midtown Village soon in the spot formerly occupied by Bob’s Victory Grille (1800 McFarland Blvd, Ste 218). The Georgia-based restaurant serves New Orleans style seafood boil, including crawfish, snow crab legs, blue crab (seasonal), shrimp, King crab, and lobster tail. thejuicycrab.com 

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is now open in Tuscaloosa (635 Skyland Blvd, in the old Kmart location). A grand opening celebration was held on June 19 at the store, which is one of America’s largest retailers of closeout merchandise and excess inventory. (205) 632-3980; ollies.us 

The Peach Pit Bar and Grill is opening soon in Tuscaloosa’s Midtown Village (1800 McFarland Blvd E, Unit 500). The casual restaurant will feature over 100 craft beers, as well as house made sauces and rubs. Several peach-themed dishes will be on the menu, including wings in peach habanero sauce, a peach and molasses cheeseburger, and a peach martini.  (205) 248-2118 

Tuscaloosa Gynecology (657 Helen Keller Blvd) is now open and taking new patients. They offer a wide range of gynecological services to women of all ages, including preventative care (pap smears, mammograms, and bone density scheduling). News and Happenings 

Several businesses in Tuscaloosa and Northport are nominees for the 2019 Alabama Retailer of the Year Nominees. Finalists for the award will be honored Oct. 22 at the annual Alabama Retail Day luncheon in Birmingham. Area nominees are Edgar’s Bakery (Terry Smith), Frutta Bowls (Josh and Samantha Giambalvo), Jennaration Boutique (Jenna Powell), Kyle Office Solutions (Chris Kyle Jr.), UGO Convenience Delivery (John G. “Jay” Newman II and Matt Tietz), and Woods & Water (John Collins). 

Edelweiss German Bakery closed its doors on June 3. Owner Ester Scheeff opened Edelweiss almost 12 years ago in Temerson Square in downtown Tuscaloosa.
