News and Happenings 

Gigi’s Cupcakes closed the doors on its Tuscaloosa location in Midtown Village on May 31. Gigi’s cupcake franchise has more than 100 locations nationwide.   

Tuscaloosa Tennis Center (formerly Center Court Tuscaloosa) plans to hold its grand reopening on June 14. The ceremony and ribbon cutting will be held at 10:30 a.m. That evening, a Member Appreciation Mixer and a grand reopening party for members/patrons is planned. On June 15-16, TTC will be open and free to the public to come tour and try a little tennis. 

West Alabama Works received the Governor’s Award for Overall Best Regional Workforce Council at the Alabama Works recent statewide conference. The award honors the top workforce council for the state. West Alabama Works is the workforce development division of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. 

ZF Chassis Systems was recently named Alabama Manufacturer of the Year in the large manufacturing category by the Business Council of Alabama and the Alabama Technology Network. The Tuscaloosa business supplies axle systems to the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance. 


9 Round Fitness recently celebrated its third anniversary in Tuscaloosa. 9 Round offers full-body workouts in 30 minutes. (205) 248-7641
