Wingstop is now open in Midtown Village in Tuscaloosa, in the space formerly occupied by Dickie’s BBQ (1800 McFarland Blvd. East). The restaurant serves a variety of different flavors of wings, including atomic, mango habanero, hickory smoked BBQ, and spicy Korean Q. News and Happenings 

The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama members heard a post-election forecast at the Chamber in Session: State of the Economy event, held Nov. 6 at Embassy Suites. The event included updates on the GDP, as well as predictions for workforce, logistics, and the housing market.  

Marsha White, a senior health care executive with over 25 years of leadership in hospitals and health systems, has been named chief nursing officer for the DCH Health System. White comes to DCH from Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she was chief nurse executive at Christus St. Patrick Health System. She held the same position at medical facilities in Missouri, Florida, and Mississippi.

In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Kinematic Sports – the manufacturer of the SidelinER medical tent, was recognized at the Chamber’s Business After Hours on Nov. 13 for graduating from The EDGE Incubator and Accelerator.

The Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority (TCIDA) recently approved a package of tax abatements for four different projects, for a total of $586 million in capital investments over coming years. Abatements are for Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Warrior Met Coal, Bolta US, and Arch Global Precision. It is one of the largest announcements for new capital investment in TCIDA’s history. 

Florida-based Publix is opening a new location in Northport – its fifth store in Tuscaloosa County. The grocery store will be located in the new 56,800-square-foot Bristol Park shopping center, located at the intersection of Highway 69 and Mitt Lary Road.
