Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority Elects Officers Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority

The Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority (TCIDA) has elected H. Dean McClure, president of TTL Inc., chairman for 2018. McClure succeeds Claude D. Edwards, president of Bryant Bank, who completes his term on Dec. 31.

“I appreciate the opportunity given to me by this board to represent our community and to contribute to the future development of Tuscaloosa County,” said McClure. “We will continue our focus on creating jobs and positive economic growth through the support of our volunteers and our local elected officials.”

McClure stated that TCIDA's successful recruitment and retention efforts in recent years, especially in the automotive sector, have created almost 2,000 new job opportunities for our area and more than $1.6 billion in capital investment.

"Tuscaloosa County has enjoyed success in both the automotive and steel industries and TCIDA looks to support our past successes while enhancing our economic partnerships throughout our community during the coming year," shared McClure.

Mark S. Crews, Sr., western division vice president of Alabama Power Company, will serve as vice chair, Norman A. Crow, Jr., president of DT & Freight Company, will serve as treasurer, and Steven S. Rumsey, president of Rumsey Properties, will serve as secretary.

Michael D. Smith, a partner with Smith and Staggs, LLP and TCIDA legal counsel, was re-elected as assistant secretary.

“TCIDA has been a fundamental component of Tuscaloosa County’s economic development foundation since its establishment in 1975,” said Jo Bonner, TCIDA interim executive director. "The collective efforts of our officers and community volunteers are invaluable to our activities and contribute to the development and growth potential of our county, our region, and our state. The leadership elected by our board will work to support TCIDA’s mission and to represent the best interests of our citizens.”
